I haven’t really weighed in on Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education” bill, which has been falsely dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by the dumb liberal media. For one thing, I don’t live in Florida. For another, I can’t even remember anything I learned in elementary school, so who cares one way or another? It’s just another excuse for journos to yell at a Republican they see as a threat. Ron DeSantis is probably going to run for president in 2024, and they’re treating him like they treated Trump eight years ago.1
Now the Walt Disney Company has been pressured by lefty activists, both inside and outside the corporation, to condemn a bill that none of them have actually read.
Okay. They get to do that. You don’t have to agree with it, but they get to do it.
In response, a lot of parents are now cancelling Disney Plus, changing their vacation plans to avoid Disneyland and Disney World, throwing out their Finding Nemo DVDs, or whatever else they’re doing to protest.
Okay. They get to do that too. You don’t have to agree with it, but they get to do it.
Free speech. Free markets. Let the chips fall where they may. Money talks, caca del toro walks. Etc.
That’s it. There is nothing more.
No, seriously. We’re done here.

A while back I came up with a handy rule of thumb: By the time I learn enough about a “bombshell” news story to realize I don’t care, it turns out to be false anyway.
It doesn’t always happen that way, but it happens far more often than it should. Journos will pounce and/or seize on any story that confirms their biases, and when it turns out to be bull$#!+, they just move on.
For example, they all freaked out over this BREAKING NEWS earlier this week:
January 6! Missing White House records! Trump has his own Watergate! Again! This is big! A game-changer! Use all the exclamation points!!!!!!!
Except it’s literally nothing:
I bash CNN when they get it wrong, so I have to give them credit when they get it right. This isn’t enough to get me to watch CNN, mind you. And I’m definitely not signing up for CNN+, which will soon be a moot point anyway.2
Journos miss Trump so much. They don’t know what to do without him. They’ll willfully ignore evidence of Biden’s corruption because he’s on their team, but they’ll rummage like pigs in the mud for anything they think will hurt Trump. It’s almost as if they want him to run again in 2024.
Almost!
Jen Psaki is going from a Democrat-controlled White House to MSNBC. So it’s a lateral move.
This seems like it might be something.
Remember that? The pandemic? Two solid years of your life down the drain?
The people who did this to us will probably get away with it, because everybody’s too exhausted to pay attention anymore. That’s how tyranny flourishes. Welcome to human history.
Look, I’m not going to tell any jokes about Madison Cawthorn at an orgy. I’m just not.
I’ll think of them, but I won’t tell them.
Today is a confusing day. It’s Friday, which is good because the weekend is almost here. But it’s also April 1st, which is bad because it’s the one day every year when unfunny people get permission to attempt humor.
You won’t find any of that April Fools’ Day nonsense here, dear reader. You’re no fool, or you wouldn’t be here.
Thanks for reading! Now that you’ve scrolled all the way down here, please pay me for my work. You can subscribe to this daily newsletter for $5/month or $50/year. I’m counting on you to do the honorable thing and support me. Are you an honorable person?
Yay, I knew you weren’t a parasite! Thank you for subscribing.
The journos have learned nothing and never will. The more they screamed about Trump during the 2016 campaign, the more everybody wanted to know what all the fuss was about. CNN would air live footage of an empty podium, waiting for Trump to show up, and then they went insane when he actually won. They’re patently ineducable, or they wouldn’t have gone into journalism.
Quibi launched two years ago next week, and it lasted about seven months. So CNN+ just needs to keep it together until October. Good luck not shattering that record, guys!
1) I agree with the principle of your main item: Disney can do what they want; we can do what we want.
2) However, Disney has declared themselves to be a political player. "Our goal *as a company*" is to repeal or overturn enacted legislation. They are no longer just a commercial enterprise which we can patronize or not as we wish. They are pursuing a legislative agenda, just like a lobbyist, SuperPAC, think tank, or other swamp critter. They need to be treated as such.
3) Disney's actions and statements (and I'm thinking largely about the leaked Zoom call here) indicate quite clearly that they view certain segments of their market as unimportant, or certainly less important than others. Members of that segment are justified in feeling angry, and in expressing that anger.
4) "They’re patently ineducable, or they wouldn’t have gone into journalism" was a magnificent ending to perhaps your most magnificent week.
I am not watching Sunday night TV because I watched Disney when I was kid. I wonder if my tv still gets local channels. And what is all the plus about?
