I wish I could give you a thousand upvotes for this:
But Mr. Biden who, with his son, quite literally sold out his country expects these companies to give up their profits to save his demented, wrinkly, old behind
What I can't figure out is why, when everyone - and I mean even the most Leftist Lefty in Left Town - knows that Biden is dirty but no one to the right of Stalin is allowed to point it out.
Invoking Conquest's 3rd Law, if the Biden Administration were purposely trying to destroy the US Economy and trample all over the American Spirit, what would they do differently?
I've watched similar stuff happen in small cities (and Detroit) and medium-sized companies. It's just weird how the jackals gather and no one says a word.
This may be the saddest, most depressing newsletter you've ever sent out. Not your fault; the world just seems especially effed-up today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Question: "What’s the point of writing and passing laws if you’re just going to punish people for enforcing those laws, based on a lie somebody told online?"
*Sorry for text wall. This full quote seemed appropriate*
"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."
- Dr. Floyd Ferris to Steel Magnate Hank Reardon from Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
And by "sister in law," you mean "the other woman," yes?
Also, "Slings & Arrows" is not only Canadian, but Paul Gross' best TV series ever (even better than the often brilliant "Due South') and the most wildly hilarious "behind the scenes" look at regional theater. Ever.
The absolute best small/bit character on "Letterkenny" are the Mennonites, Noah and Anita Dyck. Noah Dyck being played by the same guy who did J-Roc in "Trailerpark Boys." TPB being, I would guess, the other decent Canadian TV Show that Jim mentions.
This is, no doubt, the funniest thing ever. No matter how down I am on the future of our world and nation, no matter how depressed I get, this will always give me a healthy laugh. Love it so much.
This free post was definitely worth the money I paid to subscribe for a year. I did pay an extra $25 added on to the year subscription for you to be my friend. I definitely haven't gotten $25 worth of friendship... yet.
me too. Makes it worth it. And the alleged bit....
If the oil companies are so mean and greedy NOW... why, exactly, were they so much less mean and greedy when the other guy was in office?
It's almost as if motivations and policies matter.

“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” Eric Hoffer
"We have to treat climate change like the existential threat it is. As president, I will:
- End subsidies for fossil fuel corporations
- Ban new drilling on federal lands & waters
- Hold oil executives accountable
- Rally the world to raise the commitments of the Paris Agreement"
Promises kept!
"The Jims" have to be my favorite "Shoresy" characters.

That AI site consistently makes Joe Biden look like Mason Verger as played by Gary Oldman in Hannibal. I can't get enough!!
"An absolutely cutting response."

If you love horses, family values, interesting plot lines and gorgeous scenery, you might like "Heartland." It too is from Canada.

I will not help you move a couch or drive you to the airport. Off the table.
I'm very happy to hear that your knee is finally feeling better. Are you sure about the couch?
