"Nah, it’s pretty simple. Alec Baldwin is a manipulative rageball who uses his fame to get out of trouble."

He really is. He's a total douche nozzle. But he's a good actor including some great performances like bunches of stuff on 30 Rock, as Jack Ryan alongside Connery in Hunt for Red October, and Foley: "Coffee is for Closers"

I honestly have problems watching him given his extreme activism and douche nozzletude. Although I guess I've grandfathered him in for The Hunt for Red October.

He was young, thin, and not a big star when Red October came out. No one went to that movie to see him. They went to see Connery. That said, he was great in that movie. That doesn't make him a great man though. He's a horrible person when not in front of a camera (and sometimes a horrible person in front of the camera). And as someone whose been around guns his entire life, I have little sympathy for his current situation.

Why is this the first time I’ve seen Captain Chuck Finley in the comments? Chuck Finley is forever.

I could use a mojito.

It's not always easy but I try to separate the artist from their activism.

It can be very difficult when an actor's true persona is seen.

Does anyone remember that Alec Baldwin first burst onto the small screen in 'Knot's Landing'?

Man, he was so handsome back then. And he's very funny. I've seen him on 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee' with Jerry Seinfeld a few years ago.

Heh: "Elsewhere at the big WEFfen-SS party".

Who would be shocked to see video from the mountain that the WEF meetings are being held on, with the mountain top opening on a giant hinge revealing a giant laser?

It's supposed to be a picture of Norm Macdonald on Weekend Update. Substack isn't loading images for some reason.

The saddest thing about the Jenn-Ruth Green leak thing is that it seems to have worked. The Democrat was rewarded by the electorate for his scummy tactics. America, of course, is right to have God remove his hand of protection and allow just judgement to fall upon such a people that reward stuff like that. Just remember as everything falls apart around us, we as a people by and large accepted, promoted, and affirmatively voted for this.

I moved into IN-01 in June. The local media barely covered the story from her point of view. And it's not just Gary's (or East Chicago's) influence. Way too many people who live in NW IN moved here from Cook County (to get away from the awful taxes, etc) but continue to vote straight Dem. Thank God the rest of the state (except Indianapolis) has not joined them.

I love this

And meant to add: "we as a people by and large accepted, promoted, and affirmatively voted for this."

Lil has been on this a few different times: We keep voting for it over and over.

Say what you will about Alec Baldwin (he's a murderer and should be locked up, *of course*) His appearance in GlenGarry, GlenRoss is some of the best five minutes in cinema history. I have gone back and watched that a number of times, and the entire movie is in my top ten.

The WEF and Climate Change activists are primarily anti-human. Prove me wrong.

I truly believe they want about 2Billion people to somehow, some way, just hit the self-delete button. And this is a low ball number, a starting point. I think when Paul Ehrlich says "we would need 7 earths to continue at this rate" the WEF'ers nod along and are all "go on..."

_Two_ Billion? Do you really think there are enough beetles in the world to feed Two Billion? I'll bet that's twice what they see as ideal.

Alec Baldwin is a horrible person, but then he's a fine actor. Okay. That applies to way too many fine actors, especially the ones who come up basically through Hollywood. I've noticed that is not quite so true of those who come up through other industries, like UK and France.

The trouble is, in my view, that Hollywood makes total douchenozzles believe that they are peak human intellectualism, when in reality outside of acting they can rarely find their own backside even with the help of a 6-cell flashlight and a map.

Baldwin isn't the only one, he's just the current prime example. Hollywood was way better off when the stifled the 'stars' and kept them under wraps except for publicity shots.

They still said incredibly stupid things, we just didn't see as many of them as fast. And TV shows that 'invited' them on to pimp their latest project and allowed them to discuss current events didn't help, either.

Biden can't really get any worse, as a person, he might slip deeper into dementia, but evidently the media is not quite as likely to cover for him. The message must have gone out. And Kamala isn't exactly covering herself with glory, so who's "the next man up"? (Assuming I'm allowed to use that terminology.)

Expand full comment

I still think there's some industry insider who's always Towed the Company Lion, someone they can "install" as VP - there's surely some dirt in Kamala's past; it's like the movie The Firm: everyone is compromised, which is why no one will say anything - and they want that person to be able to serve two full terms.

So, any minute now, I think.

Yeah, well, they can't really dump Kamala without the GOP helping. I firmly believe there's a Uniparty, but both wings tend to have at least some differences. I suppose the GOP could okay Newsom and give up being a separate party entirely. Quite probably a majority of GOP Housecritters would lose their next election. Perhaps a very large majority.

The Left wing of the Left wing party is incredibly unlikely to settle for anyone to the Right of Newsom, so who does that leave?

I suspect they truly fear a successful DeSantis run that would damage both parties, and they're just stupid enough to let Newsom slither in, but we'll see.

It's pretty clear that Joe Biden has never worshipped in a Black church, and likely has never stepped into one outside of the context of a political campaign. The look on his face says that he's never seen people sing and move that way in a church.

This is so funny I have to share. From althouse.bloghost.com

Me: "Did you picture the papers falling out of his pockets or shedding from his body like pangolin scales?" He says, "Both." And also, he's picturing Biden doing a sort of magician's act, sniffing some little girl's hair and then "Whoa! There's a document in there!"
