Elon Musk just fired at least half the staff of Twitter, and yet the site still works fine. It’s been a month now, and the predictions of impending doom were wrong. That’s because all those ex-Twitter employees weren’t there to run the site. They were there to run the users.
For years, conservatives have suspected that Twitter “shadowbans” them. The theory is that Twitter employees, without removing opponents of the Democratic Party from the platform entirely, will do various tricks behind the scenes to make it tougher for those voices to be heard. Deboosting, throttling, blacklisting, shadowbanning, call it whatever you want. If somebody says something that pisses off somebody at Twitter — “Men aren’t women and women aren’t men,” for example — Twitter can make it as difficult as possible for anybody else to see that message. It’s been obvious for a long time.
Twitter has denied it, of course:
And a compliant media helped:
“Denied” became “debunked.” The journos believed what they were told. The second they got the answer they wanted, their journalistic curiosity switched right off.
And guess what? They were all lying to us. Twitter does shadowban conservatives. Bari Weiss just dropped more proof of it last night, in another installment of the Twitter Files:
You can read the whole thread at that link, but here’s the example that jumped out at me:
A year ago, a scientist said something that most scientists are now admitting is true. Lots of kids have been hurt by COVID lockdowns, and Twitter made sure nobody heard the dissenters.
This is big, and the journalists are panicking. They chose to believe Twitter’s lies, and now they look even dumber than usual. So they’re switching from “Twitter doesn’t shadowban, you paranoid idiots” to “Why are you paranoid idiots so obsessed with Twitter’s shadowbanning, which everybody knew about already?”
Journos love censorship, because we’re not their audience. We’re their competition.
In the meantime, it sounds like Musk is taking this problem seriously:
That’s a good start, I guess. Or how about just lifting all shadowbans entirely?
Meanwhile, the journos are focusing on what’s really important:
First Twitter was on the verge of collapse. Now Twitter is on the verge of naps.
Go ahead, California, force yet another Musk industry out of the state. If the journos are freaking out like this now, just wait till Twitter moves to Texas.
You wouldn’t know it to look at him, but it turns out Sam Brinton might have some mental health issues:
This is the second instance of the same offense. If you get caught twice stealing luggage from airports, it probably means you’ve been stealing a lot of luggage from airports. It’s a good thing this guy is “nonbinary” or “marginalized” or whatever, or he’d be out of a job already.
Being weird doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person. The libs are right about that. Where they went wrong was assuming that being weird makes you a good person.
Wait. Is the week over already?
TGIF (Taunting Gertrude’s Iguana Frivolously), and thanks for reading my AD-FREE newsletter. Now please buy a subscription, because I can’t keep doing this for free. It’s only $5/month or $50/year. You know I’m worth it, or you wouldn’t have scrolled all the way down here.
Let's be real here, Gertrude's Iguana was sorta being a bitch. Speaking of being a bitch, "Sam" Brinton probably wouldn'a pass a security clearance because the administration didn'a do one. That would be "on brand" for this administration, as the kids say.
We went from "Twitter is not Shadowbanning anyone! There would never be a shadow ban based on ideology! To say so is a conspiracy theory!" to "OF COURSE you evil/racist/sexist/bigoted/transphobic conservatives are being shadowbanned! The F**K did you pieces of shit expect? Your speech is violence and WILL lead to violence. So shut up and take it."
The funniest part, in my opinion, is that "journalists" act like people have no ability to research what they said a few months ago. Also, just love how these Corporate Lefty Journalists are all "Twitter is private company! They can do what they want!"
Oh, sweet merciful baby Jeebus, please take the wheel while I try to regain my sanity!
The sheer hubris of the Ruling Class will be their downfall. Sheer. F**king. Hubris.
Anyway, as for Twitter and it past behaviors, all the lies Twitter told are now being defended by retroactively redefining terms. The so-called "journalists" of the LSM are as angry and ignorant as ever. Talk about privilege.
And Jack@Twitter is either neck deep in the lying or some sort of idiot savant who understand little but coding. I kind of lean toward the latter. I've known people like that.
It may be that the Leftist Narrative will not be able to shut down, shout down, the evidence coming out of Musk's release. I suspect a future move will be to allow all Twitter accounts to search for past limits put on by the old regime.
And I am REALLY not a lawyer, but is there any way some of those damaged in one way or another by Twitter employees can sue individuals and possible take some of their money? I don't have a Twitter account, but I would love to see that.
