Whenever I 'visited' NYC back it the 80s, it sure as heck looked like the rats ran the city.

Kids at drag shows - if you need a license to hunt, there ought to be a license to have kids. I know that God is omnipotent and omniscient but He really made it too easy and too fun to procreate. Some folks get them and have no idea what to do once they are on the scene.

Frankenfetter - Dasha Burns had the unmitigated gall to commit the act of journalism. There will probably be a sentence of reprogramming so she never does that again and to discourage others from even thinking about it.

Thank you for the shout out! I basked in the glow of the twitter mention all day. I can die happy now.

Marie, what about a compromise - licenses to hunt parents who take their kids to drag shows?

"Kim Davis, NHL EVP of social impact, growth and legislative affairs, says seeing the numbers is a first step toward *fixing the problem.*" [emphasis mine]

See, this is the part I don't get. Where is *the problem* here? If you want a larger audience, sure, fine, have at it.

But I doubt South Koreans or Hondurans are feeling left out by their underrepresentation. Or is that not part of *the problem*?

Black people make up 13% of the US population. We can’t be represented in EVERYTHING. If i were running the NHL I’d tell them to get back to me when there is proportional representation of white men in the NBA.

That's the nice thing about Golf. You can't have quotas, percentages of certain people or anything like that. The cut on Friday is the cut. You don't/can't make it, you don't play on Saturday and Sunday.

Of course you could "have quotas, percentages of certain people or anything like that." But it wouldn't really be golf, would it? I suspect they're not really talking about hockey players but about all the non-playing jobs NHL hockey (or NFL or NBA or MLB or whatever) generates. You can force as many "quotas, percentages of certain people or anything like that" that you want until the parasites kill the league.

The kids getting dragged to drag queen shows by virtue signaling liberal parents is a continuation of the phenomenon whereby children are increasingly asked to be exposed to adult concepts and make adult choices while adults regress into perpetual adolescence and infantilization, shirking adult responsibilities and duties to protect the innocent from potential harm. Still, there is an even smaller segment of those that simply wish to rob children of their innocence, because they take joy in that. "Rule 43 of the Internet: The more beautiful and pure a thing is - the more satisfying it is to corrupt it".

Regarding Eric Swallwell's ridiculous commercial, it's very clear that the audience is suburban liberal wine moms who shout the, "muh grand/daughter's rights". The lady in the video is in what appears to be a well off upper-middle class family with two kids already, so the lady depicted there already "chose" twice for life yet somehow couldn't figure out how to stop the conception of their most recent child without aborting it, and the obedient "MAGA police" show up to arrest them. Nevermind that the only people being arrested over abortion currently are pro-life protestors and not the people firebombing life-affirming parental care centers. Assuming their premise were correct that you have a state that "outlaws all abortion" regardless of circumstance, I would expect that there would be in heavily democrat urban centers there would be no DA's prosecuting that, no warrants sent for those kind of arrests, and no police that would be willing to do it. A pure, fraudulent fantasy.

"This is happening in Texas?" Well, it seems to be happening mostly in the deep blue, Democrat dominated cities whose inhabitants loathe and despise everything "Texas" about Texas. Bless their hearts.

Expand full comment

There really aren't any "blue" states. There are a handful of states with mega-metropolitan areas clustered around highways, railways, and waterways.

The vast majority of space in the US is not-so-densely-populated. But the city-dwellers see their lifestyles as being more moral, more worthy of praise and the fact that there are people who don't want that lifestyle, well... that just can't stand.

Expand full comment

Too many (most?) city-folk, that is those who live in cities by choice and and are seeking or using things that it takes a city to offer, tend to justify their choice by ignoring any faults or flaws caused by the city and thus feel obligated to "diss" those who don't care to live in cities.

That's one reason they continually, is the US, whine about "white flight" from cities. In fact, essentially all the flight from US cities is by *all* races and ethnicities who reach the middle classes and find they can get most of the good of a city and less of the bad by choosing to move out to "the hinterlands".

The rich tend to stay in cities because their wealth protects them from most of the bad. And they probably have multiple 'residences' outside the city. The poor stay because the either don't have a choice to move out or they don't 'see' a choice to move. Moving in incredibly expensive for poor people (I know. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.).

It's not enough for city-dwellers to like their choice. They have to hate those who don't agree with their choice.

Your translation of hockey to basketball was funny! I think Ms. Davis, the EVP of DIE, should be given the Kelisa Wing award. Ah, the CAUdacity of it! I'm fine with boycotting the NHL. They don't have nearly the leverage of the NFL.

Kids at drag shows. Conservatives are often accused of wanting to return to the '50's. Yet there would have been universal shaming of a parent who did anything like that. This child abuse has gone on for a while:
