I must say, The Taylor Lorenz Decade is not shaping up as well as could be expected for Taylor Lorenz. Step it up, people! don't make me come back there and literally shake at you!
Amazing how we all get a front row seat to a massive media outlet, owned by one of the world's richest men, as they cry about who has the most diversity points to win their petty little argument.
I mean, we're talking Harvard grads and rich socialites who went to a Swiss finishing school.
Bezos should have just bought Gawker when it folded. It would have been cheaper.
As for the "Rage Against the Poors" getting off with a couple of years that they probably won't even have to serve out, while confused grandmas who wandered into the Capitol Building on Jan. 6th are still waiting for their day in court just demonstrates that there are two justice systems in this country.
There is a double standard of justice in this country. I just read Prof. Turley's piece you cited regarding the terrorist/arsonist lawyers. It reminds me of a quote of Michael Anton's in his book, "The Stakes". He wrote, "The law will be enforced--against you". (I just re-skimmed the book and can't find the page for the quote. Someone else tell me if you find it.) In any case, it's true. What a huge difference between the "everyone-must-be-convicted" policy toward the Jan. 6 rioters--and some non-rioters--and the BLM/Antifa thugs and other protesters who were given citations to pay off.
Devil's advocacy here, but it seems to me that 5 years for the terrorist/arsonist lawyers on what was mainly a property crime doesn't seem like an *obviously* insufficient sentence. How does it compare to sentencing for similar offenses?
When I saw the "Pop-Tarts are Gay" image, my first reaction was "Fred 'Rerun' Berry has really slimmed down!"
Sadly, though, Fred 'Rerun' Berry has in fact been dead for (looking it up) damn, nearly 20 years now.
TV recommendation for you: I am halfway through Danny Boyle's Pistol miniseries, about the Sex Pistols, and it is surprisingly good so far (even if the Johnny Rotten character doesn't look much like the real-life one!) They must have paid a fortune for all of the music used (not just Sex Pistols but Bowie and many others).
Stranger Things 4 has just been fantastic. I loved season one and thought it was very well done. Season 2 and 3 seemed to go off the rails, and I was worried for season 4. Well, the first few episodes of 4 were meh, at best. There was an introduction of a number of new characters, as well as establishing where the old characters are. Things seemed bloated, and I really felt that too many of the characters had plot-armor so thick you would think that was an M1A1, not Dusty-Buns Henderson.
Then episode 5 happened. 5 thru 7 were just *chefs kiss* excellent TV. The way that the writers brought it all around in episode 7 was my personal favorite. Tied things together from season one to now, and done in a way that "made sense." Now, just have to wait a month to finish the season. I really think they need to end it, they're on track to wrap things up nicely.
Glad you liked Severance, as someone who watched LOST to the bitter end I tend to give mystery box shows a long time to pay up. Based on your recommendation I am watching Better Call Saul, which I heard was good but frankly didn't have a chance to watch. I got about two or maybe three seasons into Breaking Bad and thought I had to finish that first before watching Saul. It was heartbreaking to see Jesse get pulled back into drugs so I stopped watching Breaking Bad.
Anyway, you mentioned you can watch Saul on it's own, so I have been watching it as my laundry folding show and really enjoying it so far.

IIRC, the Al Franken Decade back in the 80s (?) didn't go all that well for Al Franken, either.

For those of you scoring at home, I think the gay Mexican Harvard boi is ahead on diversity points.
One surgical procedure from being the ultimate diversity hire.

You said it.
I don’t think Peter Thiel was going to let anyone revive Gawker, that was quite the long game he put into play, lol.

Because BLM has state sanction, obviously. They're the SA; once they're no longer useful, they'll be liquidated.
Exactly

After that, I'll probably cancel Netflix.
I can't stand having a good Monday, so I'll have whatever.

Severance doesn't start with a B. The formula is broken!
