The "missing context" is that Joe forgot what time it was as soon as he took his eyes off his watch, so he had to look again.

I've enjoyed your newsletters this week. Nice going! Yes, I laugh when I see the trigger warning that you're about to write about movies. I know you do it for me. Actually, I love movie reviews. Just hate Marvel and DC and all that. Have a good weekend, friend.

Looking AT his watch. I changed "checking" in the headline so I didn't have "check" twice in a row, and I forgot the "at."

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH

"What won't Democrats lie about?" The answer, @jtlol, is apparently "absolutely nothing"!

Hey, how can I subscribe more than once? $5 a month seems insufficient for the received value.

If you're a media political op, I think a better approach would have been to Fact Check it as "Unverified" (Using the Snopes scale) -

Video shows Joe Biden inspecting his wrist area during return of slain servicepeople. Claims by alt-right agitators that he was checking his watch are unsubstantiated. It is equally possible the President was reacting to a mosquito bite, or inspecting a mole that has changed in appearance and may in fact be metastasizing into a carcinoma lesion.

If you're going to lie, at least put a little effort into it. Lazy!

Remember how Ted Koppel became a household name? It was because of the ABC TV program Nightline.

Remember how Nightline became a regular ABC program? It was the continuation of the nightly ABC vigil about the Tehran Embassy hostage crisis.

Every night, they began the program with the current count of days the hostage crisis had been going on. It was such a popular program that when the hostages were released, ABC pivoted their hit show to covering other US political stories.

I wonder if any network or other outlet is interested in joining you in reviving that grand old tradition. It'd be a hit.

Have any of you considered that maybe Joe Biden was checking to see how quickly the coffins were being unloaded as part of his drive to improve government efficiency?

No. You only think about yourselves.

Great column. You hit the nail on the head, to coin a phrase. If you and other readers haven't read John Lucas' column in The Federalist, go. Now. No idea if I can post the link here, but:

https://thefederalist.com/2021/09/03/joe-biden-is-lying-to-americans-about-afghanistan/

We've been lied to about every aspect of the drawdown/defeat/surrender, including leaving the actual translators behind! There is no honor in this Administration. This senile, Potemkin President should go. So should the "powers behind the throne". They lied about the President's DOG!

Biden's Tree of Life dream must have occurred on the way to South Africa and getting arrested on the way to see Nelson Mandela.

I, too, wondered if anyone else in the media would start a Nightline-like count.

"CueAnon" is funny. What's not funny is the guy suffers from mental illness ("Surprise!") and has been jailed for 8 months. They wore him down. I'm with you: I hated all the rioting that came before Jan. 6! Those folks got their charges dropped however. It's not a "tu quoque" argument either.

I still have not dropped Disney+ and haven't watched Wanda or Falcon or Loki, but you've convinced me to give "What If" a try!

Stay safe and have a great weekend!

Thanks for the periodic reminders of Ed Asner's mortality status. With all that's going on in the world, I sometimes lose track of all the Stalinists.
