"You know, I would agree with you about Twitter if their influence were not so outsized. Same with Google or Facebook. Twitter and Facebook are de facto public commons who purport to be places of free expression."

I think this is absolutely correct.

From Pew Research: Most users rarely tweet, but the most prolific 10% create 80% of tweets from adult U.S. users. Only 22% of adults are on Twitter. It's "value" is far overdone compared to the actual metrics that should back it.

Actually, your NHJ tweet could also get you banned. Will be interesting to see which one they catch first. Keep us posted!

Re: Twitter's rules: there seems to be a movement to get Twitter and other social media declared as "common carriers," and thus prohibited from exercising viewpoint discrimination. There are also some concerns over the Administration collaborating with social media to combat "misinformation." (If it is impermissible for the government to suppress discussion of Ivermectin, then it is probably also impermissible for the government to ask private companies to suppress discussion of Ivermectin.) I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, so I don't know if any of these arguments have legs.

"But she’ll get confirmed, and they’ll all gloat, and nobody will learn anything. Fine. What else is new?" That hurts. Because it's true. And funny. Because it's true.

There have been cases where the government was prohibited from using private entities as a proxy to violate constitutional protections before. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Jim, that coach retired from teaching and took a job with Security at your local Walmart. He now spends his time happily forcing young women to put on a mask!

At this point, getting blocked or banned from Twitter is a badge of honor, so more of us should try to do it.

Once again, brilliant. How do you do it day after day? 'Rachel' Levine, Ketanji Brown Jackson and - my personal favorite today - the Pine-Sol Lady.

It is the one sure-fire laugh I can count on each day. (Weekends are dreadful!)

I certainly hope you are getting more subscriptions - I need me a little Jim Treacher Mon- Fri.

If I knew how I do it day after day, maybe I could afford to take a day off!

Wow! A reply from the man himself. This is going in my 'Response Hall of Fame'.

On the one hand, I imagine it would be hard to be as engaging & dead-center 5 times a week as you are. On the other hand, I imagine that your biting wit comes flowing out of your fingers onto the keyboard with surprising ease.

Thanks for keeping us informed and entertained at the same time.

Jackson may become the only Protestant on the Court. I believe all of the Justices have Ivy degrees except Barrett, and for a long time they were all either Catholics or Jews. Makes you wonder why no Baptists and Methodists et al.
