Meh. Lets see what RFK jr. does at his job. I don't think anyone wants to substitute liberal health scolds with MAHA ones. I would admit I have no trouble with any of this since he wants to take a wrecking ball to the FDA's rampant corruption and regulatory capture by big pharma interests. If he gets a fraction of what he wants to do done like removing drug commercials from the air waves I would call it a raging success.

Well put!

I don't want any govt (left or right) telling me how to live any portion of my life. Been there, done that and sick of it.

The mere fact that RFK, Jr. is not just an outsider but an angry outsider is enough to make me want to give him a chance to bring some Creative Destruction to a very rotten, inbred system.

Your feelings aren't wildly different than mine, but I am unaware of anyone else who might have the capacity to break a lot of Iron Rice Bowls in the Dept.

It's time for pitchforks and torches, not gentle expelling of a few holdover "scientiss."

He needs to go after just about everyone under his purview with hammer and tongs. Maybe at some point the destruction will begin to be more than the value gained. At that point Trump can thank him for his invaluable service and replace him with someone who can build the Dept back to something useful.

(Would wnyone like to bet Trump already has an undated letter of resignation from FRK, Jr.?)

And every policy based on the useless and frequently fake studies of nutrition should be repealed immediately. Of all the research I am familiar with (I taught grad Health Policy for 20 years), the nutrition "science" crap is the worst of the worst. Pretty much always wrong and frequently actively damaging. IMHO

Agree that someone w his stature & history - familial as well as the willingness to look in the dark unknown places - is in a position to take this on. Godspeed, RFKJ. 🙏🏻

I'm with you on RFK. He is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat with obvious autocratic leanings. I simply don't trust him.

I think he’ll change what the FDA considers “safe”, which used to be whatever Big Food said was healthy…

The RFKjr thing is a good litmus test all around. RFKjr has been the same all around and it's amazing to me that so many democrats "only now" see him for the krank that he is - the thing about RFKjr is that he's like the "Top 40 Music Station" of kranks. Most of what he's ranting about is garbage, but occasionally there is the "one thing" that appeals to the person tuning in that keeps them there. He does that for a large swath of Americans who have at least one thing that they themselves are a krank about, it'll just be a different "one thing" depending on who you talk to.

You're right though, Trump is fickle in his attention and which of his employees get along with him. RFKjr is going to bump heads with Trump eventually on something (Diet Coke?) and we'll be on the hunt for the next HHS head.

You make a salient point about RFKJ/government all up in your business and a logical person would most probably agree with you. I consider myself a mostly logical person but my instincts tell me to let RFKJ go & see what he can do. I may be eating my words later but for now I'm ok w him.

I agree. I am only cautiously optimistic about RFKJ. We certainly need a shake up but, like I said during the primaries, he is a big government kind of guy. I don't want anything banned. Don't eat too much food that requires dye to be pretty. It's not the fact that you are eating french fries fried in seed oils vs tallow that makes you unhealthy. It's that you choose fries over broccoli. We all have the freedom to choose our food (for now). Eat less, move more. We don't need the feds to tell us that. We already know...
