The good news is that Justin Trudeau finally did something interesting.
The bad news is that it’s this:
NOTE: This is absolutely a peaceful protest, unlike the BLM riots Trudeau condoned.
Sieg heil, eh?
Whether you agree with those Canadian truckers or not, they haven’t committed any violence. If they had done so much as break a window, the whole world would know about it by now. The only violence we’ve seen up north was when an Antifa guy ran over some protesters in Winnipeg.
Now watch all the libs who justified the 2020 riots (“Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Protests”) as they turn right around and praise Trudeau for cracking down on protesters who really are peaceful.
Hey, he’s only suspending civil liberties temporarily, right?
Libs freaked out when Trump held up a Bible in front of a church that was almost burned down by Antifa, but they’ll excuse Trudeau’s suppression of nonviolent blue-collar workers. That’s because libs don’t actually care about anything. They just need somebody to hate. Bad Orange Man isn’t in power anymore, so anybody else they decide they don’t like will suffice as a stand-in.
Here’s the closest they ever get to a thought process: “Canada is mostly white, isn’t it? Then they must all be racist Nazis. Well, except for Justin, of course. He’s so dreamy!”
I’m never gonna top this one, so I won’t even try:
Vladimir Poutine! It was right there in front of me and I didn’t see it. Dammit.
I haven’t been paying much attention to the Durham probe, but I just assume that the Clintons are guilty because they usually are:
If you want to know what a Democrat is doing, just listen to her accusations against her enemies. It’s a time-honored tactic: “Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.”
Say what you want about Trump, and I’ve said plenty, but at least he saved us from this corrupt harridan becoming president. No matter what else he’s done, that will always be a feather in his MAGA cap.
If you’re skeptical that the liberal media is dishonest and corrupt and often outright dangerous, just look at this story:
Activist Quintez Brown went to the campaign headquarters of Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg and started shooting. Greenberg was unharmed, but one of the bullets was close enough to hit his clothing.
And what is the subject of Quintez Brown’s activism? Go ahead, take a guess.
Yep, you got it right!
Brown wrote that gun control op-ed in 2019, and now he’s in jail for trying to shoot a politician. And it’s not national news because it doesn’t fit into the preferred narrative of national newspeople.
Here’s Brown’s bio at the Louisville Courier-Journal, which they haven’t taken down yet:
Some of Brown’s other stories include “Racial pride and historical knowledge is our approach to youth violence,” “How to solve Louisville’s violence problem without being racist,” and “Louisville’s huge police budget is the real boogeyman traumatizing Black people.” You may notice a theme.
Many years ago, David “Iowahawk” Burge ran a feature called “Bylines of Brutality,” collecting all the crimes committed around the country by our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the press. We’re way past due for another installment, Dave!
Back in the old days, when there was such a thing as journalism, newspaper editors used to say stuff like, “‘Dog Bites Man’ isn’t a headline. ‘Man Bites Dog,’ now that’s a headline!” An unusual occurrence is inherently more interesting than something that happens all the time.
Seems pretty obvious, right? And yet, now this is considered news:
Remember that time when Snoop Dogg wasn’t high as hell? Me neither.
OUT: Dog Bites Man
IN: Dogg’s High as a Kite, Man
And now, some science news:
Isn’t that terrific? First you abuse a child until she submits to your will. Then you use the child’s submission as proof that you’re not abusing her at all. What could be more scientific?
And here’s some more extremely scientifical-type stuff:
Authoritarianism is great if you’re in authority. For the rest of us, it sucks big fat donkey tails.
For four years the libs screamed #Resistance, but that ended at noon on January 20, 2021. Now you will do what you’re told, or else.
I don’t write about video games much in this newsletter, because my readers already squawk piercingly enough when I dare to discuss Marvel movies that are amazingly popular and make billions of dollars. But I used to edit video game strategy guides for a living, and I try to keep my hand in. Plus, I like third-person open-world games because they help distract me from the chronic pain I’ve suffered since my accident.1 Games are the only place I can still run.
So I’m looking forward to this one, debuting on Friday:
This game is a sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, set in a techno-tribal post-apocalyptic America 1,000 years from now, after everybody has forgotten what “America” was. The main character Aloy (EH-loy) was funny and likable in the first game, thanks to Ashly Burch’s voice work, although you wouldn’t know it from this trailer.
I assume the gameplay will be similar to the first one. To play the game, you make Aloy run around a huge map, smashing up robotic animals and gathering items and such. The story is about mankind destroying the planet and what the survivors do next, and it’s kind of annoying and woke, but I don’t care. I just like pretending to be a future person hitting mechanical tigers and birds and dinosaurs with a big stick.
The toughest thing about these games is tearing myself away from them so I can continue to publish your favorite newsletter every single day. So in advance, I’ll say this: You’re welcome.
Happy Tuesday and thanks for reading. It looks like subscriptions have come to a screeching halt, and I don’t know why. Maybe everybody spent all their Christmas money already?
I’m not sure what to do about the literally thousands of freeloaders who read me every day but want me to write this for free. This is how I make my living, guys. I’m not selling ads or your personal information, so reader subscriptions are the only thing keeping me afloat. I can’t do this for much longer if you don’t pay me.
If you’re not one of those leeches, thank you. You’re a good person, unlike those parasites.
Writing also help distract me from my chronic pain. Unfortunately, it inflicts pain on my readers!
HZD was one of the few media/gaming experiences where the wokeness was endurable because fighting robot dinosaurs was so much fun.
It's all just depressing. Not only is it a case of "The Bad Guys Win Again". Take a look around: Australia (Australia!) threw people into Covid camps; law enforcement has been used against protestors in the Netherlands; cops are breaking windows and pulling protestors from vehicles in France! Now Canada. They, too, will crush those truly peacefully protesting.
"Freedom" is now a dirty word of the "far right". Check out David Marcus:
