Russia just invaded Ukraine, and I’m really confused. I’ve been reliably informed that this sort of thing simply doesn’t happen anymore:

Doesn’t Vladimir Putin realize he’s hopelessly out of fashion? Why didn’t he listen to the guy who’s so much smarter than he is? Now the cool kids won’t sit with him at the lunch table.

Call me a “Never Trumper” all you like, but for all my problems with the man, I can’t help but notice this is happening now and not four years ago.

Here is a map of all the verified Russian attacks on Ukraine as of 3:30 am last night. Just a reminder that just a day and a half ago, Putin was claiming he was just sending in “peacekeeping” forces to defend the area circled in yellow.

This is not happening because of anything Donald Trump did or didn’t do as president. This is happening right now.

Why didn’t Putin do this four years ago? We all know he has Trump in his pocket, of course, so why did he wait until now? Why is that evil thug doing things the hard way, humiliating the strongest, smartest, most focused American president in our lifetime?¹
