I envy those people that have time to get to a cafe meetup! I barely have enough time to fill my Instagram feed with #savetheplanet hashtags before getting to the zero emissions interpretive dance festival.
These kooks are fine for now, but when they start trying to blot out the sun, seed the troposphere with dust, put stuff in the ocean, or any number of Bond villain plots, it may be time to take the wheel away.
I hope someone is doing a longitudinal study on how many climate cafe participants end up autounaliving. Meeting with a bunch of people to compare notes on how hopeless humankind's situation is and how nothing anyone in the group does will make a rat's ass difference seems like a great way to create and amplify self-destructive ideation. Heck, meeting up for a beach clean-up day would be infinitely healthier for them.
