You definitely need to watch Veep, if only for the realization that the writers basically predicted the whole Kamala Harris situation. The problem is that the left doesn't realize that Veep is a parody/satire, and not a playbook. They probably have the boxed set at the office, watch an episode and go, "See, this is funny! We should do that!"
So if a family flees abject poverty in Guatemala to cross into the US illegally and then gets a million dollars or so from the US government, do we send them back as obviously not being impoverished, or do we welcome them in as the kind of economically successful people we want as part of our great national tapestry?
Cash for Immigrants: You get more of what you subsidize.
I'm a largely open borders libertarianish kinda guy but, as it stands, we have rules against just gamboling on over. Problem is, no one wants to solve this problem, Dems nor Repubs. The first rule - maybe the zeroth rule - of politics is "Never solve a problem you can run on for reelection." Once immigration is made more smooth and sensible, you're off the Gravy Train, Bud!
Electric vehicles have some upsides - their ability to turn power to torque far exceeds the way an ICE does (on most trains, they use a diesel engine to drive electric motors) - but they're just not ready for prime time yet.
And you can't stop Climate Change using coal-powered cars.
Hey! How about 30,000 Govt. types flying in for the Climate Conference?! THIS, Buttigieg can see to and attend! It's a shame China won't attend, given its pollution/Greenhouse Gas Emissions are greater than the US and the EU COMBINED!
As for electric cars, didn't Gavin Newsome tell people to plug them in only at certain times so as not to overload the grid?
Finally, you're funny about the illegal alien payouts; I'm livid.
I'd like to see those illegal alien psychological damage cases go to a jury. Let American citizens/taxpayers/voters decide how much, if anything, they're owed.

Hey - they earned it!
If I wanted to play and connect in 3D, I'd open my front door and step outside.
But the Big Blue Room is scary. There's people in it. ;)
EXACTLY!
Were you separated from your family at the border? That's the ticket to riches.
