When it comes to your writing, more is better. That's because even when what you are writing is about what makes me mad or I don't agree with you (so you are wrong of course), it usually comes across as witty and amusing which helps the medicine go down.
I didn't really notice today's post as being shorter, until you mentioned it. That may be partially due to all the embeds - not saying they should be left out, but they fill out content that you didn't have to write but I'm still reading.
I like the daily content, but for me I don't care if it's 750 or 1500 words, as long as it keeps coming. I get a lot of news / editorial / substack content every day, and this is the only one I always read, and usually as soon as I'm notified it's arrived.
If my boss is reading this, I just said that to make Jim feel better. Of course, I wait until the appropriate break / personal time to read this!

JD Vance on the right, wisely I think, declines to intervene. He did tours oversees _and_ is a successful businessguy. Like both of those clowns put together.
I had no issues with today's stack - you are able to distill things into pithy and humorous bites. I would prefer that over a 'padded' word count. Maybe that's the side effect of Twitter?
Be of good cheer! Your writing is the best thing I read all week. Whatever you put out I will devour it. Thanks for being a beacon of hope amid a world of increasing darkness.
It did feel short today, and not up to your usual standard. Of course, your usual standard is insanely high, so that's not really fair. But there was nothing spit-my-drink-out-through-my-nose funny. Hey, everyone's entitled to off days now and then.
More is better, but not at the cost of forcing it to meet an artificial deadline, or, worse still, if you start to resent it. If 1,000 words is all you have in you today, or even for a few days, that's OK; it will make the 1,500-word days all the sweeter.
I prefer 1,000 words every day over 5,000 words once a week, which I get from some other substackers.
Focus group of one, but I've noticed your most recent dailies are shorter than they used to be. Also a focus group of one, but when it comes to Treacher (Jim, not Arthur), more is better.
Well, I don't count every word, but I do notice the appearance of less wordiness. Or a lack of appearance of more words. Or, you know, the thing... Emanations and penumbra don't really do it for me.
Agree - quality over quantity.
I noticed. Type until you feel full. 800 - 1000 -1500 it is all good.

1000 is better than 1500. My attention span is short and having something more bite-sized works just fine in my book.

Does feel a little leaner today.

The length was fine.
I think when people would have realized they're just re-reading your tweets, they would have figured it out... not that I would have told them
That's a trick question, right? We always want more for same price. Unless the shrinkflation is Putin's fault. Then less is totally legit.

Felt a little light, but same amount of substance. Was that a negative comment. I'm not sure. ;-)

That Bloomberg article is almost a parody of what an elitist asshole would think. Let them eat lentils!
