I actually respect these younger musicians a lot more, because they're making music they love even though they know they can't get rich with it anymore.
The Matt Berry song (my hearing is so bad I can't really get all the words) not only soundslike it could be from the late 60s, but the opening sounds like he "borrowed" it from "Paint It Black."
That song totally sounds like something Sonny & Cher would have sung. In fact, if I close my eyes I can even see what they would have worn while singing it on their show.
They aren't a new group anymore, but any time that I can get to a performance by The Struts, I make sure to attend.
Bands and artists used to tour to sell records. Now they don't even sell records, they share them, and tour to scrape out a meager income. Sad times indeed.
With regard to Babymetal, after they did a concert featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest, the word went forth: "If they're metal enough for Rob Halford, they're metal enough for you." Interesting band; they definitely have the chops.
This has been one of the greatest years in pop rock history but you'd never know it from the so-called music press or the rebarvative awards shows.

Goat is great. Those unison vocals instead of harmonies make for a great sound plus there is a nice groove and everything's just weird enough.
