My general attitude toward the musical genre is this:
I’m with Norm.
If you like musicals, that’s great. But the rest of us don’t know why anybody decided musicals should be a thing, and we prefer to pretend they don’t exist.
It’s not something I go around ranting about, myself. It’s just a personal preference. Much like I don’t want big chunks of onions in my food or any booze in my cup, I don’t want musicals in my eyes and ears. It’s a part of the human experience I’m happy to leave for others to enjoy.
