So much for my cautious optimism. We’re only a few days into 2025, and it stinks already.
In New Orleans, an Islamic terrorist drove his pickup truck into a crowd of people and died in a gunfight with the cops. In Las Vegas, an apparently different kind of nutcase killed himself in a Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel. That one is looking less like a terrorist act than a bizarre suicide. At least he didn’t kill anybody else.
And of course, we’re already being warned about “Islamophobia,” which is what happens when a Muslim kills a bunch of people and you notice.
That’s in addition to the piece of crap who pushed a man in front of a Manhattan subway train on New Year’s Eve. The victim will survive, and presumably his attacker will be set free. It’s NYC, after all. Or maybe Biden will pardon him.
Speaking of that confused old man, where the hell did he wander off to? Oh, there he is.
I think everybody’s ready for this guy to finally go away. Even us NeverTrumpers are like, “Enough already.” I don’t know if things will get better, but I don’t see how they can get worse.
Famous last words…
I spent most of my break playing a crazy videogame called Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.
I’ve been gaming since Zork — Colossal Cave Adventure, actually — and I’ve never played anything like this before. It’s got elements of point-and-click puzzle games like The 7th Guest and Myst and all those LucasArts games, but it’s also heavily text-based. The game throws an astonishing amount of information at you, but very little explanation of what any of it means, so you have to figure out what the hell is going on as you’re playing.
There are dozens, maybe hundreds of puzzles, and half the battle each time is figuring out where to even start. The game is cheat-proof because all the puzzles are randomized, so even when you go online and look up the method of solving it, you still gotta do all the work yourself. It’s the only videogame that has ever required me to keep a notebook, as the developers recommend.
There are references to everything from French New Wave cinema to the Nintendo Game Boy, and it all has to do with a murder mystery. I think? I couldn’t tell you the “plot” if I wanted to, which I don’t.
As one reviewer put it: “It’s like David Lynch designed an escape room.” You’ll probably hate it, but I really liked it.
Are you an old fogey who just wants to rock? Real rock, the kind with guitars and drums? Do you miss the ‘90s? Me too. So it does my heart good to hear young men with guitars bringing it back.
All I know about this guy is his name is Michael Lemmo, he’s a fantastic guitarist, and apparently his music is self-produced. You can listen to that whole album here.
Alright, that’s all have for now. Get well soon, 2025!
Don't forget; things will always get worse before they get worse.
After listening to Biden clips on Fox News bashing Trump as the worst person ever, you might want to take time to reflect. Never Trump is why he had the support of 82 % of the counties in America. He’s not a saint by any means, but the average working person is feed up to our ears with climate bs, uncontrollable spending, DEI, gender identity bs, attacks on energy sources that actually work, and most of all the giant overreach of subsidies and government intervention in everyday lives. Billions are treated like a hundred dollars in this crazy world! I’m mostly libertarian but I’m certainly all about preserving opportunities for people to succeed on merit and effort!🗽🇺🇸im sure there are many other reasons I’m right or wrong but at least I care about the America that gave me the opportunity to succeed. Proud Veteran and sad about all these wars etc. It can be a great change of direction for the country! 🤞🗽🇺🇸
