A lot of Trump-lovers don’t like me, and neither do a lot of Trump-haters. Both sides dislike me for the same reason: I’m a Trump agnostic. I don’t think he’s the most wonderful human being who has ever lived, nor do I believe he’s history’s greatest villain. He’s a loud reality-TV guy who ran against the worst presidential candidate in my lifetime and won. He served one term (so far!), and he did some good stuff and some bad stuff. He wasn’t the best president America has ever had, but he wasn’t the worst either.
I try to judge every Trump utterance on its merits, because the truth is the truth no matter who’s saying it or whose feelings it hurts. So it’s fine by me when Trump says stuff like this:
Here’s the full quote:
“I’ve had the booster. Many politicians–I watched a couple of politicians be interviewed and one of the questions was, ‘Did you get the booster?’ – because they had the vaccine – and they’re answering like–in other words, the answer is ‘yes’ but they don’t want to say it. Because they’re gutless. You gotta say it – whether you had it or not. Say it. But the fact is that I think the vaccines saved tens of millions throughout the world. I’ve had absolutely no side effects.”
Trump is vaccinated. He’s boosted. He thinks politicians who refuse to say so one way or the other are “gutless.” (Which seems like a shot at DeSantis?)
Makes sense to me, but then…
