The Media Will Move on from Afghanistan, But the Taliban Won't
You might lose interest in them, but they won't lose interest in you
There’s so much that’s wrong with this Afghanistan debacle that it’s tough to even know where to start. Now the White House strategy is: “Promise to rescue all the Americans we stranded there, after claiming we weren’t stranding them there, then hope everybody moves on and stops asking.” Which is what will happen. All the journos will just forget Biden lied to them, because he’s a fellow Democrat.
Every single day, reporters should ask Jen Psaki how many Americans are still stranded in Afghanistan. They won’t, but they should.
If this were happening under Trump, CNN would already have a chyron onscreen at all times: [X] DAYS WITHOUT ALL AMERICANS RESCUED FROM AFGHANISTAN. Brian Stelter would be aghast.
This is only a media strategy, of course, and it isn’t going to help Biden once the Taliban starts taking hostages, launching more terror attacks, and all the other stuff they do. Then Biden will have to come up with some excuse for his new pals in the Taliban, who are already hunting dow…
