Infuriating the influencers

As we all know, the highest and most noble goal in politics is “owning” your opponent. That is, angering him. Humiliating him. The more he cries out in frustration and rage, the greater the accomplishment. It doesn’t matter if it’s in service of an effective policy, or even makes sense, as long as it ruins the day of someone you don’t like.

By that metric, the GOP had a big day yesterday. Unfortunately, the people they pissed off were on their own team.
