There is an old Vulcan proverb: “Only Nixon could go to China.” And now we’ve got a modern update.
Courtesy of my old Daily Caller colleague Steven Nelson, now at the NY Post:
President Trump on Thursday ordered the declassification and release of long-secret files on the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
“Everything will be revealed,” Trump, 78, said in the Oval Office as he signed an executive order mandating the disclosure — after decades of speculation and conspiracy theories about each of the slayings…
Officials will have 15 days to “present a plan to the President for the full and complete release of records” on the JFK assassination and 45 days to do so for the RFK and MLK cases.
Hmm. The last time we heard “15 days,” it ended up being a couple of years…
Out of the gazillion executive orders Trump has signed this week, this is the only one that really interests me. I’m glad somebody finally did this. I get accused of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” because I dare to disagree with him when I think he’s wrong, but I’m not so far gone that I’ll disagree with something just because he’s the one doing it.
If you want to tell me you don’t wanna know what the government has been covering up for 60 years, I politely request you go back to TikTok and leave the adults to talk amongst ourselves.
Everybody’s got their own theory about the assassination, it seems. Personally, I’m rooting for Sam Giancana…
