On July 13, 2024, in the little town of Butler, Pennsylvania, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald John Trump was struck on the ear by a would-be assassin’s bullet. It came within millimeters of striking his brain, and he’d probably be dead now if he hadn’t been turning his head at that exact moment.

The shooter injured two attendees and killed a third. Only then was the shooter brought down by the Secret Service.

That’s what happened. Millions of people watched it all on live television.
