Joe Biden is a demented old man who probably shouldn’t have run in 2020, let alone even attempted a second term.
In April 2025, that’s not a controversial statement. Even among Democrats, it barely elicits a shrug and a grudging, “Well, yeah, duh.”
But a lot of those same people lied to us about Biden for four years because they wanted to hold onto their jobs. Now that they’ve failed to drag him or his even more disastrous successor over the finish line, they’re taking the only path available to them: Pretending they said so all along.
The dependably shameless Jake Tapper has a book coming out next month about Biden’s mental decline. Which is weird, because Tapper is one of the guys who tried to tell us Biden was fine. He lied to us, and now he’s profiting off his own lie. Maybe he assumes his few remaining viewers can’t remember any better than Biden can.
But in the meantime, a couple of other DC hacks named Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes have put out a book on the same topic.
