Who knew it was this easy to get government functionaries to stop doing something you don’t like? All you need to do is yell at them for a few weeks and they’ll fold like a cheap suit. And the best part is, then they can paint themselves as victims. They sure do love being victims.
Yesterday Nina Jankowicz announced the dissolution of the short-lived, lame-brained “Disinformation Governance Board,” via her bestie Taylor Lorenz at the Washington Post. I immediately pictured Jankowicz giving her first tearful TV interview about the fiasco:
“It was so horrible. Th-those evil c-c-conservatives… quoted me!”
Because that’s what happened. Jankowicz is on the record doing and saying a lot of crazy stuff, and people noticed. They quoted her. That’s all it took.
Do you want this person “adding context” to anything you say? I sure don’t, but then, I’m an American.
So Jankowicz instantly became a laughingstock, crushing her dreams of telling us all what we can and can’t say. Even Joe Biden can take only so much humiliation.
Well, Jankowicz didn’t actually weep on-air during her interview on MSNBC last night, but she sure did whine a lot.
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING VIDEO CONTAINS CHRIS HAYES
Yeah, she’s a victim, we get it.
Jankowicz’s comrades at the NYT are also glad to spread that lie on her behalf:
“A Panel to Combat Disinformation Becomes a Victim of It.” No, it most certainly did not. This is an example of — drum roll, please — disinformation!
Jankowicz has been brought down by plain old information. There’s nothing dis- about it. She was quoted accurately and in context, and her idiotic “Disinformation Governance Board” collapsed like Biden climbing a flight of stairs.
