There’s an old saying that goes, “Nothing in life is certain except death and taxes.” But I’d like to propose a third certainty in this world: Members of the Democratic Party will always misspend those taxes.
Last week Robert Telles, an elected Dem in Dem-controlled Nevada, was arrested for the murder of a reporter who had covered him unfavorably. But things aren’t all bad for Telles. At least he’s keeping his job:
David Charns, Nexstar Media Wire:
A public administrator in Clark County, Nevada, who faces an open murder charge could remain in his elected position — with a $130,000-per-year salary — until a new person takes over in January…
“For now, he’s still an elected officer and he’ll get paid while he’s in jail,” Democratic Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom said Friday…
“We can take the scope of work away from him, but as far as him having the title and getting the salary, it is that way, because the voters picked him,” Segerblom said.
So essentially, Telles is taking an all-expenses-paid vacation. Not only are taxpayers footing the bill for his room and board, but they’re also still paying his salary. He’s sitting in a prison cell on a murder charge. He killed a guy — allegedly — and he’s actually being rewarded for it.
It’s good to be a Democrat.
But can you guess whose fault it really is?
Trump made the Democrat do it? Okey-doke, lady.
