I’m not a big sports fan, but if you are, I gotta say I love your passion. You really care a lot about the guys who throw a ball around, to the point where you even know their names. Even though I don’t share your interest, I respect your emotional investment in wealthy men dressed in odd-looking uniforms who don’t even know you’re alive. There are worse things in the world to care about, probably.

Some people enjoy their favorite team so much, they attend games while dressed up in the team’s colors. They might even try to look like the team’s mascot. Like this young fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football organization, who you might have seen in the news lately:
