If there’s one thing Americans love, it’s being scolded.
“You can’t say that!”
“Don’t talk about possible treatments for this virus!”
“Where’s your mask, fascist?”
“Excuse me, but my pronouns are she/they!”
“How dare you pretend to be a black woman?!?”
Etc.
Back in the old days, Republicans were the ones scolding everybody. Rock ‘n’ roll was the devil’s music. Women weren’t supposed to expose so much as a bare knee. Clark Gable saying “damn” was a scandal.
But in 2024, the loudest scolds are on the other side. These days, Democrats are the ones furiously reprimanding you.
The latest example of Dems trying to kill your buzz has been brought to you by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, host of the Kill Tony podcast. He spoke at that Trump rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday, and Dems are outraged by this particular joke:
As you can hear, even the supposedly Naziesque Trump supporters weren’t sure about that one. Hinchcliffe had to backpedal right away. He had to talk down the crowd before they turned on him.
Was it the best joke anybody has ever told? Ehhh, not so much. Was it appropriate to the venue? Obviously not, judging by the crowd’s reaction.
But you know what it was? It was a joke. Hinchcliffe is a comedian. This is how that whole thing works. A guy stands up and tells jokes.
Dems are all in favor of free speech, just as long as it doesn’t hurt their feelings. Humor must be used only for their purposes.
Team Kamala instantly pounced and seized on Hinchcliffe’s joke. Just look at ‘em go:
