Even if you know as much about quantum physics as I do, which is next to nothing, you’ve probably heard of Schrödinger’s cat. That’s the name of a thought experiment concocted by a physicist named Erwin Schrödinger, in which a cat is placed in a sealed box with a flask of poison, some radioactive material, and a Geiger counter. If the counter detects radiation, the flask is shattered and the cat dies.
Until the box is opened, the cat is assumed to be both alive and dead. This has something to do with quantum superposition, and the “observer effect,” and other science stuff I don’t really understand.
I also don’t understand why everybody is pretending Joe Biden is both the president of the United States and not the president of the United States.
