My dad dropped that nugget of wisdom on me when I was a teenager, and that’s how I’ve viewed the world ever since. It’s something I try to remember whenever I hear a story that I really want to believe because it confirms my biases. I don’t always succeed, but I do try.
People do all kinds of stupid crap, every single day. Is it all part of some nefarious, shadowy conspiracy? Or are they just goofy idiots bumbling around?
It’s in that spirit that I examine today’s tempest in a teapot: Ex-FBI Director James Comey posting a picture of some seashells on his Instagram page.
Okay, let me start with an uncontroversial statement: James Comey is a very strange man. Always has been, always will be. This is just the latest example.
But is it even worse than that? What does “86 47” mean?
