Is Artificial Intelligence Really Fooling Older People?

The journos sure want you to think so

As artificial intelligence proliferates and improves, it’s getting tougher and tougher to discern fantasy from reality. And if you’ve been paying attention, Americans have never been too good at that anyway.

Or at least that’s what a lot of journalists want you to think.

Speaking as someone who is young at heart, I have a pretty good “uncanny valley” detector up here in my ol’ noggin. Most AI fakes don’t fool me.

For example, about a year ago somebody showed me this video of Joe Biden bashing transgender people:

Wow, isn’t that something? Actually, no. It’s not anything.

Yes, the voice sounds right. But the mouth movements are off, and Biden speaks for over 90 seconds without screwing anything up. His “stutter” is utterly gone. So it’s obviously fake.

Plus, he would never say such things… out loud.
