If a Boy Claims He's Now a Girl, How Do You Know If He's Lying?
Wired Magazine commits blatant transphobia
There are a lot of things I don’t like about living in America in 2023 — Hi, Matt Gaetz! — but the thing I like least is the almost universal denial of reality. I don’t know if it’s the proliferation of entertainment options, or the isolating effect of “social media,” or drugs in the water, or what. But now, if you don’t like a fact of life, you can simply pretend it doesn’t matter or doesn’t even exist.
Like chromosomes.
Remember those little buggers? They were how you could tell the boys from the girls. It was just science, dude.
To quote the second-greatest movie of the 20th Century:
Those were the days, huh? It was a universal truth, known even to children who couldn’t tie their own shoes. That kid is pushing 40 now, and in 2023 he’d get cancelled for uttering such heresy.
The problem with insanity is that, by definition, you can’t fight it with reason. I just read a “news” story that highlights the deranged incoherence of the current gender ideology craze, and how badly most normal humans are struggling with it.
Amanda Hoover, Wired (emphasis mine):
It was meant to be a week for women in tech—but this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration was swamped by men who gate-crashed the event in search of lucrative tech jobs.
The annual conference and career fair aimed at women and non-binary tech workers, which takes its name from a pioneering computer scientist, took place last week in Orlando, Florida…
Cullen White, AnitaB.org’s chief impact officer, said in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, that some registrants had lied about their gender identity when signing up, and men were now taking up space and time with recruiters that should go to women. “All of those are limited resources to which you have no right,” White said.
Okay, I don’t really care about any of that. If you want to have a tech conference and ban half the population of the planet, be my guest. It’s probably illegal, but I’m not a cop. You don’t want me or my kind there? No problem.
What I do care about is this: How do you know those men are lying about being women?
