I'd be happier if Ibram X Kendi had to return his humongous paycheck, or at least stopped getting paid. AFAIK Ibram gets paid whether his show is released or not.
That made laugh! I turned 65 last week and when I read the post I thought wow I’m one of Jim’s friend. Then I read what you wrote and my euphoria evaporated…
I liked the grab bag. Your columns this week have been some of your best. My favorite part of this week? That the totalitarian Ministry of Truth crashed and burned. And that nitwit running it got her feelings hurt and is now a victim.
That first pick of the crazy liberal, screamo-activist with the stupid "Coexist" patch that obviously doesn't apply to coexisting with CHUDs like me and their (her/xir/xim/zit's?) "I'm a nice Karen" patch is just *chef's kiss*! This is a person who looks like they subscribe to the idea that there are no bad tactics, just bad targets.
Also, I expect the WEF to announce that their water fluoridation plan is designed to turn the "freakin' frogs gay" and everyone to nod along, "hmmm, yes, indeed - most indeedly so" any moment now.
I know that remarking on the looks of a female is SOOOO sexist, but I don't care. I'ma do it anyway.
Why does Nina Jankowicz look like her head was assembled by an alien who only knows what a human looks like from second hand knowledge? I dunno. She looks weird.
Nina - why the long face?
Eh, who am I to talk. You seen a duck? Our face is like 70% bill..
I live in the new NY 10th congressional district, currently "represented" by Jerry Nadler. It never occurred to me that it could get any worse, but De Blasio as my rep never occurred to me either. I live in a very liberal area downtown and he's not well loved, not to mention the tough time he's likely to have in the Orthodox areas of the new district. They're not going to forget he chained shut the gates to their parks and playgrounds in Summer 2020 while cheering on the crowds protesting George Floyd's murder. (And don't forget his repeated antisemitic remarks)
Just when I thought things were looking up -- Nadler having a non-zero chance of shuffling off the Congressional mortal coil -- it turns out part of Nadler's old district (where I live, thus understandably garnering no sympathy) is now District 10 and includes Park Slope. So now I have a non-zero chance of being represented by...I can't even write his name. As my mother always said, be careful what you wish for.
I'm afraid to answer that question. If there is one thing NYers -- from every party affiliation, ethnicity, occupation -- can agree on, is that he is the worst. And yet, he was elected to a second term! He has tons of money, and if he can keep all but the truly fringe from the competition, then.....our only hope is that the DNC rallies, because the Pols hate him even more than his targeted constituents.
I'm just gonna start by saying I hit the Tip Jar because I thought Comments were turned off or something. The a few mins later looked again, saw "Message clipped," clicked a link, voila! Comments.

I realized this was previously expressed on this forum but Nina Jankowicz is a F#@&ing child and would have been the worst Executive Branch appointment by 1,000,031 miles.
This by an administration that tapped Kamala, Mayor Pete, Jennifer Granholm, and DHS Boss Guy Mayorkas. And Merrick Garland!

"Some of my favorite people are old coots!" So now I qualify as one of your favorite people?
Ohhhh... SOME of your favorite people. I get it. No big deal.
I'll just be over here watching old episodes of "Hey, Landlord!"

I'm so glad I could snatch what little happiness you cradle in your heart. I shouldn't be alone in my solitude.
Sadly you’re not alone. Oh well I guess us “Old Coots” have to stick together. Guess I’ll rewatch “Gran Torino” to remind how to act
There were apparently a whole bunch of us.
I was thinking more like watching "McCloud." But I hear ya.
McBain!
Gotta wonder, what would be the toppings on a lesbian pizza? Anchovies? Cherry tomatoes? No white sauce...
C'mon. It would be a Hawaiian with extra pineapple. *shudder*
I love me some pineapple pizza, I even appreciate anchovies occasionally. But don't come near it with green bell peppers.
Nobody say tuna, you bigots.
OK, but meatless, for sure.

Grab bag is rad bag, man.

As noted in another comment, De Blasio has to be delusional.
But you're saying... there's a chance?

Some of your favorite readers are old coots, you did say I was your favorite reader.
Simmons can do ANYthing... including looking feeble. Here's hoping that as the story unfolds, his Dangerous Old Guy gets a chance at bat.
