It seems like every few years, we have a “national conversation” about burning the American flag. And it’s always the same stuff, again and again.
Is burning the flag legitimate protest, or sedition? Is it okay to burn some flags but not others? If you hate this country so much that you’re willing to burn our flag, why not move to Russia? (Or, if the speaker is particularly right-wing, Ukraine.) Should it be illegal? If so, is the death penalty off the table?
