Until a few years ago, I had never heard the word “neurodivergent.” Then, one day, it was everywhere. Instantly, it became the appropriate word to use whenever someone was behaving oddly.

“He’s kinda weird, but go easy, he’s neurodivergent.”
“I can’t come into the office today, I’m neurodivergent.”
“Please stop mocking my TikTok videos where I sit in my 2012 Honda Civic and scream into the camera about politics. I’m neurodivergent, you f***ing fascist!”
