Last week, Alec Baldwin shot and killed a woman while filming a movie. Can you guess what the real story is, according to CNN’s Jake Tapper?
That’s right:
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: When a Republican screws up, that’s the story. When a Democrat screws up, the Republicans’ reaction is the story. Jake Tapper knows and obeys this rule, even when a woman is dead at the hands of his comrade.
I believe Alec Baldwin when he says he didn’t know the gun was loaded. And, also, in addition to that, he pointed it directly at Halyna Hutchins and now she’s dead. The Republicans didn’t make him do that. The Republicans didn’t hire the crew members who were supposed to prevent it from happening. The Republicans didn’t tell Baldwin to point a gun, even a gun he thought was unloaded, at another human being and pull the trigger.
As we get more details about what happened, it seems obvious that it was an accident. It wasn’t intentional, but it was still negligent. And whether or not Baldwin knew the gun was loaded, he pointed it at that woman and now she’s dead. She’s the victim. Not him.
Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions are responsible for that woman’s death. But Jake Tapper knows his job, and it’s not to bring you the news. Tapper’s job is to help Democrats in trouble.
The Los Angeles Times knows this too:
It discharged? All by itself? While it was in Baldwin’s hand and pointed at another human being? It had a mind of its own?
Alec Baldwin is innocent until proven guilty. But that doesn’t oblige me to have any sympathy for him. Or for his enablers in the media.
It seems unlikely that Rust will ever be completed, after what just happened on the set. Back in 2014, on the first day of filming Midnight Rider: The Gregg Allman Story, a camera operator named Sarah Jones was killed by a freight train. The movie was never finished.
I don’t know anything about writer/director Joel Souza, who was shot in the shoulder and is now recovering, but here’s the trailer for his previous film:
Looks like a scriptwriting algorithm mashed up a bunch of David Ayer movies and this is what it spat out, but Thomas Jane is always good. Crown Vic is streaming on Hulu. I’m glad nobody was hurt or killed while filming that fake gunplay.
And guess who produced it? That’s right: Alec Baldwin.
As we all know, spreading unfounded claims about an election being stolen is bad and wrong.
Unless, of course, a Democrat is the one telling that lie.
When Trump and his pals claim he won an election, they’re evil Nazis. When Stacey Abrams and her buddies claim she won an election, they’re brave truth-tellers. It all depends on whether the liar is a Republican or a Democrat. That’s it. That’s all you need to know. It’s the simplest thing in the world, and it’s much easier than thinking for yourself.
Inflation. Food shortages. Open borders. Americans stranded in Afghanistan. COVID-19.
None of that stuff is as important as this.
America has never had a National Gender Strategy before, because... what the hell does that even mean?
Yes, Anthony Fauci is a liar. And he literally tortures puppies.
I don’t follow sportsball, but I do know LeBron James is a shill for the Chinese Communist Party. And I know that not all NBA players are cowards.
In reaction to Kanter’s exercise of free speech, China is blocking Celtics games because communists hate and fear the truth. I assume the NBA will cave into China’s demands and force Kanter to shut up, because they want that Chinese money. Until then, kudos to Kanter for speaking his mind in the United States of America.
Usually, SNL’s jokes about Joe Biden are of the “Why are those dirty Republicans so mean to him?” variety. But here’s an interesting little artifact from last week’s show:
You can see the kid is nervous about the audience’s reaction. (I can’t remember his name and I’m not going to google him and it doesn’t really matter.) But the crowd actually laughed. Genuine laughter, not the sort of clapter a liberal crowd usually does to signal to their peers that they’re all in the same tribe. They recognized the underlying truth of the jokes: Biden is a confused old man. And that’s funny! Terrifying, but also funny.
In other SNL news, Ed Sheeran was supposed to perform this week but now he has COVID-19. I can’t help but notice that nobody is blaming him for it. Apparently, getting sick is only a moral failing under certain circumstances.
Sorry to inflict James Corden on you, but this seems relevant:
I assume Sheeran is vaccinated and took any other precautions he found necessary. And he got it anyway. Eventually we’re all going to get this virus, whether or not we even realize it, because that’s what a virus does.
All the libs are mad at Joe Rogan for getting COVID-19, because he’s not vaccinated. But now a presumably vaccinated Ed Sheeran has the virus, and nobody’s panicking. Well, other than the SNL bookers who need to find a new musical guest by Saturday.
Hey, wait a minute… can Joe Rogan sing?
Maybe SNL is becoming more comfortable mocking Biden because so is everybody else.
Anger and vulgarity? Against the president of the United States? Why, I haven’t seen anything like this since, uh, the last president we had. And the one before that. And the one before that. And the one before that. And…
I’ve been alive for a good little while now, and as far back as I can remember, Americans have mocked and criticized our president. And we’ve often used rude language to do so. We’ve always spoken truth to power, especially when power wants us to shut up.
But our dissent is only a problem for WaPo et al. when the power is held by Democrats. It’s almost as if they’re not actually journalists, but merely mouthpieces for their political party.
Almost!
It’s only a matter of time before “Let’s go, Brandon” becomes hate speech. Laugh while you can, peasants.

You were right about Dune. It's pretty good. Better than Apple's Foundation, too.
French Dispatch was OK. Two of the latest Bond film actors and one of the Dune actors, so kinda deja vuish.
Those Converse sneakers are genius! (Xi Jinping banned Winnie the Pooh in China when some folks pointed out his resemblance to the Bear of Very Little Brain.)
