I finally managed to cobble together a podcast intro that’s about 20% of what I want it to be. And I think I was standing too close to the mic at the beginning. So I’ll keep working on that stuff. This is on-the-job training, folks.

One thing I had in my notes, but completely forgot to mention, is that Robert Downey Jr. was originally cast to play Parker. It would’ve been his third Shane Black movie, and kind of a spiritual sequel to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
I remember being excited about that when it was first announced. But then Marvel backed up another dump truck full of money to beg Downey to play Dr. Doom, so we’ll never know what he could’ve done with Parker. I guess Marky Mark will do in a pinch.
Fun little bit of trivia: Play Dirty co-star Lakeith Stanfield was born one month after Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch released “Good Vibrations.” Wahlberg is still flashing his abs at 54, so, good for him.
